M. Kameron Hawkins is an entrepreneur, United States Navy Veteran, community advocate, and founder of The M. Kameron Hawkins Foundation, Inc., Non-profit His life has been defined by service, exploration, leadership, and a deep commitment to building stronger communities through innovation, collaboration, and meaningful initiatives that leave a lasting impact.
Raised in the American Southwest, Kameron’s early years in Arizona instilled in him a strong work ethic, an appreciation for the outdoors, and a lifelong respect for the values of independence, personal responsibility, and service to others. Long before adulthood, he developed an adventurous spirit that led him to travel extensively throughout the western United States, Mexico, and Central America. Before the age of twenty-one, he had explored Nevada, Utah, California, Idaho, New Mexico, Arizona, Mexico, and Central America—most of those journeys undertaken alone. Along the way, he embraced hunting, fishing, camping, and helping those in need, while gaining the wisdom, self-reliance, and perspective that would shape his future.
His connection to Nevada began in the summer of 1970 during his first visit to the Silver State. Drawn to its natural beauty, independent spirit, and enduring promise of opportunity, he developed a lasting admiration for Nevada and its people. Those early experiences planted the seeds of a lifelong relationship with a state that would eventually become his permanent home.
At the age of twenty-one, Kameron answered the call to serve by joining the United States Navy. From 1983 to 1986, he served with the United States Navy Ceremonial Guard in Washington, D.C., where he earned the distinction of serving on the prestigious Presidential Ceremonial Guard Drill Team—an elite twelve-member unit selected from approximately two hundred ceremonial guardsmen. The experience instilled an unwavering commitment to discipline, professionalism, excellence, and servant leadership—principles that continue to guide both his personal and professional life.
In 2012, Kameron fulfilled a lifelong aspiration by making Nevada his permanent home. Rather than leaving behind the experiences that shaped him, he embraced Nevada as the next chapter of his journey. He arrived with a profound respect for the state’s history, its pioneering spirit, and the people who have helped build its communities across generations. Becoming a Nevadan represented far more than a change of address; it marked the realization of a lifelong vision to contribute to the future of the state he had admired since his youth.
As an entrepreneur, Kameron believes that successful businesses should do more than generate revenue—they should create opportunity, strengthen communities, and inspire others. This philosophy is reflected in his personal brand and guiding principle:
Building Businesses That Inspire.
His entrepreneurial endeavors are driven by the belief that innovation and collaboration have the power to improve lives while preserving the unique character of the communities they serve.
That vision ultimately led to the creation of The M. Kameron Hawkins Foundation, Inc., Non-profit, a nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating, promoting, and strengthening all seventeen counties throughout Nevada. Founded on the belief that every community has a story worth sharing, the Foundation seeks to preserve Nevada’s heritage while encouraging tourism, supporting local businesses, and fostering stronger community connections across the state.
Among the Foundation’s signature initiatives is the publication of the 17 Nevada Lifestyle County Magazines, a collection of publications dedicated to showcasing the unique history, culture, businesses, attractions, and people that define each Nevada county. More than travel publications, these magazines are designed to inspire local pride, encourage exploration, promote economic development, and remind residents that every community contributes to Nevada’s remarkable story.
Expanding the Foundation’s mission even further, Kameron also launched Nevada Outdoors Magazine, a statewide publication dedicated to showcasing Nevada’s unparalleled outdoor recreation, wildlife, public lands, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, off-road adventures, and natural beauty. The magazine encourages residents and visitors alike to discover the diverse outdoor experiences that make Nevada one of America’s most remarkable destinations while promoting responsible stewardship of the state’s rich natural resources.
Complementing the magazine series is Nevada.events, a statewide online event calendar created to connect communities and support local organizations. Developed as a free resource, the platform allows businesses, nonprofits, civic organizations, and event promoters to advertise festivals, community celebrations, fundraisers, concerts, educational programs, and cultural events at no cost. By removing financial barriers to promotion, Nevada.events helps strengthen local participation while increasing awareness of the diverse experiences available throughout the state.
Through these initiatives, Kameron is pursuing a long-term vision of creating a more connected, prosperous, and celebrated Nevada. He believes that promoting tourism, supporting small businesses, encouraging civic engagement, and highlighting local achievements all contribute to stronger communities and a brighter future for every county.
Today, M. Kameron Hawkins continues to dedicate his time, leadership, and entrepreneurial experience to initiatives that bring people together, celebrate Nevada’s unique identity, and create opportunities for future generations. His work reflects a lifelong commitment to service, leadership, and the belief that lasting success is measured not only by what is built, but by the positive impact it has on the people, organizations, and communities it serves.
